Tie One On Baby

As the tempurature plummets, it gets increasingly more difficult to look fabulously adorable. I simply will not have this! So no matter how frigid it gets, I will make damn sure somethin' on me looks smashing. The easiest and most appropriate item is the almighty scarf. You can pretty much find one snaked around my neck 24/7 (yes its true, I tend to sleep with scarves and heels...ya just never know when you will get discovered). Without fail, someone always asks me for a tutorial on how exactly I tied my scarf. Or I have even gotten an emergency call from clear across the country asking me to skype to show her how to manage this amazing new scarf she got (uh, I am so needed). So rather than constantly being available to ALL of my many fans and followers, I found a great step by step image on how to get a super cool (or rather warm) look around your neck

New Year's Dressolutions

So here we are... 2010! Holy Shiiiiitake Mushrooms (sorry- quote from my kids favorite movie and truth be told I like it too), I cannot believe it. Well as I pondered the New Year with the 1.5 million others who seemed to have found religion at the gym today, I thought what Dressolution can I suggest to my fabulous readers.
Well, here it is ...I know you may not like it but 2010 is the year of SIMPLICITY. Every magazine you pick up has some story on simplifying your life, your dinners, your clutter, your finances etc. ..so now it's time for your closet. You know every time you open that closet door, there is a visual reminder of how many pieces you should remove. What a great way to start off the year by "paying it forward" with a heap of clothes to donate. I know you've heard it before but the rule of thumb is if you have not worn it in 2 seasons (and that is generous) you simply are not going to wear it. If ya think you are going to save it for when the trends of 2000 to come back in 2012, it ain't gonna happen. Any trend that comes back, comes back a little bit different...it has to or the designers wouldn't be able to sell it as FRESH or UPDATED!!
So back to the issue at hand....take that bull (otherwise known as your closet) by the horns (otherwise known as your hangers) and wrangle it in ladies. I know its not easy but having a simplified closet is the only way that you will really be able to see what you have and more importantly, what you need. And what better way is there to feel less guilty about any new purchases than knowing that you gave to those in need.

So, the Dressolution for this year my lovelies... SIMPLIFY YOUR SILHOUETTES!
(and if you need some moral support getting rid of your absolutely favorite jeans that have a resemblance of acid wash..please write me, i will drop everything to talk you through)
